A former private chef for the beauty mogul, 28, filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court June 22 on more than two dozen claims, including discrimination, harassment, emotional distress, wrongful termination, retaliation and failure to pay proper wages, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY. The chef, who held the position from November 2024 through March 2025, alleges she was assigned "excessive hours, physically demanding tasks, and high-pressure events" despite informing Jenner and her management team of her high-risk pregnancy, which required accommodations. Attorney Della Shaker of Shaker Law Group addressed the suit on behalf of the chef in a statement to USA TODAY on Thursday, June 25: "For our client, this case is about finding justice after one of the most painful chapters of her life. She looks forward to having the truth come to light through the judicial process." USA TODAY reached out to a representative for Jenner for comment. While pregnant, the chef says she was subjected to verbal hostility and mistreatment by her supervisors. One instance occurred in December 2024 when the chef alleges she was instructed "to lift and transport heavy food items across the street and uphill without assistance," causing a medical emergency. The chef says she "became dizzy, began choking and gasping for air, and required assistance from security personnel" during the incident. Later that day, she alleges a manager "reprimanded" her for upsetting Jenner with her behavior. During a birthday party for Jenner's child on Feb. 1, 2025, the chef was allegedly assigned an "excessive workload"

and denied requests for assistance, leading her to break down emotionally in the middle of the event. That night, she says she "experienced extreme physical exhaustion and heaviness throughout her body as a result of the prolonged and intense workload." The next morning, the chef says she woke up "experiencing severe hemorrhaging and drove herself to the emergency room," where she "was informed that there was no detectable heartbeat and that she had lost her unborn child.” Kylie Jenner sued by a second housekeeper for workplace discrimination After returning to work, she disclosed her miscarriage and alleged she was falsely blamed for leaving Jenner's house in "disarray" following the Feb. 1 event. On Feb. 8, 2025, the chef suffered another hemorrhage and was hospitalized. The chef alleges a manager had "repeatedly suggested" she relocate to New York to be closer to family. After emailing that manager to request the move, she claims her employers characterized her "communication about her medical condition and relocation as a voluntary resignation despite intent to remain employed." On March 14, shortly after returning to the job, the chef says she was told "she had been removed from the Kylie Jenner household assignment and that March 31, 2025, would be her final day." The following week, the chef was allegedly asked "what it would take" to work a future event for Jenner, and she "clarified that she had never resigned and was confused because she believed she had already been terminated." A manager said they would discuss the matter with the team, but the chef was later informed “it was not going to work out," the complaint says. The chef alleges during her employment, she was never provided "compliant meal periods, rest periods, overtime compensation, mileage reimbursement, and accurate wage statements." After being let go, she reported "discrimination, harassment, retaliation, pregnancy-related mistreatment, accommodation failures, and wage violations" to management firm Tri Star, named as a co-defendant. On May 22, 2025, a Tri Star team member emailed the chef "proposing a settlement and release agreement on behalf of herself and Defendant Kylie Jenner and her corporations," which would have barred the chef from suing in exchange for payment if she agreed. The filing further accuses Jenner and her codefendants of failing to adequately support the chef despite knowing about her health circumstances, mistreatment and wishes to remain employed. "As a direct and proximate result of Defendants’ unlawful conduct, Plaintiff suffered severe emotional distress, anxiety, depression, humiliation, mental anguish, and other damages," the complaint concludes. The chef is asking for damages, along with back pay, lost wages, lost earnings and lost employment benefits, front pay in lieu of reinstatement, all unpaid wages, attorneys' costs and fees, and a jury trial. Angelica Hernandez Vasquez, also represented by Shaker, filed her complaint on April 17 alleging "a hostile work environment" in which she experienced "discrimination, harassment, and retaliation … based on her race, national origin, religion, and disability." Juana Delgado Soto filed in April 29 for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to pay wages and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
